This movement dates backs centuries and could be viewed as a collective culmination of countless traditions practiced by civilizations throughout time. The Red Tent Movement isn’t particular to one spiritual practice, though many women revere the wonderful book The Red Tent, authored by Anita Diamant, which is based in biblical times. In a Red Tent, all spirituality is valued and every faith has a place to be expressed. In honoring the Red Tent Temple Movement, we will embellish Divine Sight with elaborate and elegant décor in every shade of RED. If you have anything red to offer, please, feel free to bring it – the more the better! We will share a meal at the end, so please bring a dish or drinks to share.
In this fun and light hearted workshop you will learn or be refreshed on the basics of all roles in Acro Yoga: base, flyer and spotter. We will play a few fun group warm ups and trust building exercises, then jump into the fundamentals of safely getting into and out of aerial and therapeutic postures. You will be paired with people in the room, so no need to have to come with someone, Partners are welcome, but we will switch up according to size and height as well.
At the end you will be ready for a relaxing savasana and guided meditation led by Lisa, Reiki Master Teacher.
“Raise Up a Red Tent Temple. Raise Up a Woman. Together we are building with our collaborative support a woman-honoring culture for our daughters, grandmothers, mothers, sisters, selves in every village, city and town.” ~ ALisa Starkweather, founder of the Red Tent Movement.
“JOIN US IN THIS GRASSROOTS MOVEMENT AMONG WOMEN THAT BUILDS SUPPORT FOR WOMEN LOCALLY IN THESE IMPORTANT TIMES. Honor your life as a woman, your bleeding cycles, your need to gather, our need to be in time that is not structured to see what can be created when we slow down and give ourselves time to connect and collaborate.” -Red Tent Temple Movement
